Christopher North
Multi-genre composer and author.
Composer and Novelist
Christopher North is a British-American composer and novelist, currently residing in northwestern New Jersey. For over two decades, he has told stories through both music and language.
North’s music spans a range of styles and genres, drawing influence from sound worlds as varied as Benjamin Britten and Black Sabbath. His work sits at the intersection of classical and heavy metal, borrowing elements from both to create music at once familiar and novel, always with strong narrative at its heart.
He has had world premieres of work performed by Rutgers’ Helix Ensemble under the baton of Maestro Kynan Johns, as well as several performances by Rutgers graduate students across a variety of forums.
He is currently studying for a PhD in composition at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts with Dr. Robert Aldridge and Professor Kevin Farrell, with a focus on orchestral and media composition.
