My academic and personal background is strongly rooted in the traditions of western classical music, and even as a young child I was writing short piano pieces and even trying my hand at large-scale symphonic works. I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2006 with a degree in composition and music theory, but left the academic world behind then for almost 20 years.

I am now studying for a PhD in composition at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts under Dr. Bob Aldridge, drawing on my past work as a composer and looking to now combine my love of both classical and metal music into a fusion of styles that bridges the gap between art music and popular rock.
