Shade Under Trees of Longing is a projected work incorporating the sounds of both a classical orchestra and a heavy metal group. It currently exists in the form of a MIDI mockup, but is in the process of becoming a fully recorded album of orchestral heavy metal.

Shade Under Trees of Longing is a long-standing passion project, one that fully immerses the listener into both the lush worlds of classical symphonic sounds and the brutality of heavy metal. Opening with a devastating, dissonant chord in distorted guitars, the orchestra quickly compounds the intensity with massive brass and sweeping strings. This dichotomy is explored across the album, from fast, guttural tracks like “The Racing Path” or jazz-influenced acoustic tracks such as “A Rising Hope”. The album plays as a single, continuous set of connected songs without a break, creating an intense and powerful experience of the best of both classical and heavy metal worlds.
As part of my PhD thesis, I intend to re-record the album with as many live instruments as possible, from horns and trumpets to flutes and bassoons, as well as the metal band itself in the form of guitars, bass and drums.
